Greetings again to the Queens Royal Armaments industry. We would like to present our submission to the tankette design contract competition, the M.2A "Wesp":
We are going to be honest here, this tank is abit... bare. However! It is very light at a mere 4 tonnes, a entire six tonnes less than the max weight, it is also only about 4 meters long and 1.9 meters wide meaning it is easy (and cheap) to both manufacture and transport!
The tank(ette)s armour is not too shabby either with as much as <40MM effective armour on the front hull with overall armour that should protect it against machine gun fire at the very least.
As requested the vehicle has the QRAI 37mm ATG cannon, which can be reloaded in a comfortable about 3.75 seconds and gets a supply of 100 rounds. The tank also comes with a 7.92mm water cooled machine gun in the turret which should give it plenty of firepower against other light tanks and soft targets.
Yeah the mobility is not very good, at all. The top speed sits at around 15 km/h on roads and 12 off road. The tank also has an entire two gears, one forward one reverse.
For budgetary reasons we went with the less powerful of the v2 engines, the tank can carry 120 liters of fuel which should take it quite far however, even if it wont go there fast.
It could climb the local dirt pile
Mobility just aint our strongsuit I suppose
