Need help with lighting problems.... ready to take it to the dealer.
Post Body

My 2014 Sprinter has had lighting problems since I purchased it. The bright lights work, but won't stay on at the switch. The rear tail lights don't work. The dummy light indicates both rear tail lights out as well as the license plate light. (Although the license plate light is actually working). Front running, and low beam light work ok. I plugged in my icarsoft scanner in, and it's showing both an open circuit and short to ground for both tail lights and the license plate light. I pulled out both lights and the harness all the way to the driver's side seat and was unable to find a short.

I took it to a shop and they replaced a some sort of lighting relay, but that didn't fix the problem. They wanted to run a bunch of bypass wires and I stopped them. They messed up a few different other repairs and I didn't feel comfortable with them doing this.

I would believe one wire maybe shorting to ground, but not all of these. I can't help but think that there is some other problem or module that I'm overlooking.

On a side note, both the brake sensor and low coolant light is on, and both are fine. The code reader says open circuit to both. I replaced the coolant sensor, but that wasn't the problem. The brake sensors seem fine upon visual inspection, but I have yet to test them.

Any ideas?

I'm ready to throw up the white flag and take it to the Mercedes dealership.
