I have an iPhone 12 Pro. For the last couple weeks I've been experiencing issues with SMS & Group texts not being received for days at a time (likely related to an iOS update). I know it's a known issue with no true solution and all fixes/workarounds I've come across have failed, so the last thing I can think of to try is go ahead and make the swap from a Sprint SIM card to a T-Mobile one.
I know I can order the home kit online for free and have it shipped. Does anyone know if I can just walk into a T-Mobile store and pick one up for free? Also, if I do go in store will they try to force me over to T-Mobile billing? I plan to be on Sprint billing until the last possible moment and do not want to make any changes to my plan. I just want to see if swapping the SIM will fix my text message issues.
I am aware that once I make the SIM switch there's no easy way to go back, but I'm in suburban NJ so there's plenty of coverage in my area and from what I can tell I'm on T-Mobile's 5G networks most of the time anyway.
Were you able to activate the T-Mobile SIM card using Sprint's website?
