I do Hema- fencing and I’ve been styling my hard plastic protectors with spray paint. I using a bright shiny gold as the color but I can’t figure out how to make it so the paint doesn’t explode off into gold shrapnel when I get hit. I’ve only used some basic rustoleum doing 3 coats over 3 hours (it was cold and they had to dry outside) it took them in for the last coat to dry. Does anyone have advice for the most durable/ permanent way to paint plastic? I know it’ll scratch, it’s getting hit with a sword. But after one lesson half of the paint on my gear came off.
