Spore - Evolved thoughts
Post Body
Just in terms of wishful thinking, what would everyone want in a revamp/sequel?
I have a few thoughts I thought it would be fun to discuss.
- Will Wright given full control of the project, biggest point I feel
- aquatic stage
- possibility of returning to the sea as you desire
- "slower" evolution
- rather than adding/removing what you want when you want, you instead are limited to minor changes at a time, resulting in a more gradual evolution.
- as your creature evolves, animals around you evolve as well, drawing for other peoples evolutions.
- intelligence is something you put points in when you can, not something you gain whenever you meet a goal.
- Animals will have territorial ranges, reproducing and populating the world , so apex predators are few and far between, and small herbivores are populous.
- nests are something you have to decide if you build or not, do you burrow? Climb a tree?
- The climate slowly changes each "generation", and having fur/feathers etc. are important to ward off cold, sandstorms etc.
- Food and water are important, with the ability to go without either being an option depending on how you build a creature
- different sources of food as well, so you can derive some nutrients from photosynthesis, or you might be able to dissolve and eat minerals directly.
- Colour or hide/pelt is important, blending in with the terrain while hunting, attracting mates, scaring predators etc. are all valid strategies
- worlds would ideally be big enough to allow for regional/climate based variants of the same animals
- Clothing in the tribal stage would gain benefits in part due to "use" (i.e. if you regularly plopped a fez on your hunters, your tribe would slowly associate it with hunters and ascribe bonuses based on it), as well as material (i.e. telling your tribe to harvest bone/feathers/grass etc. from prey to use in camouflage)
- Clothing would be more modular, where you select individual components (sticks, flowers, leather etc.) and make stuff from it and decide where to plop it on your creature
- Gender dynamics/proportions (i.e. lions have one male to multiple females)
- Different starting planets, hot ones, gas giants, ice planets, lush temperate planets, etc.
Overall, it would be a game kinda like Total War Warhammer, with dlcs slowly adding onto and expanding the experience.
Is there anything you would like added on? Disagree with?
