Hey everyone. I’ve been following this subreddit for awhile now, and I really want to continue learning more about carving. While I don’t feel overly comfortable admitting it, spoon carving is something that I’ve decided to add to my life as a way to cope with things from my past. The task gives me focus and declutters the mind. While I did recently take a spoon carving 101 class at a folk school in the state, I still would love to continue to learn in a group setting with other people. It seems the classes fill up so quick, so I’m left to watching YouTube. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an incredible resource, but nothing compares to in-person. With that being said, are there any local people on West Michigan that host gatherings? I would love to meet likeminded people and learn from those who have been doing this awhile. Any advice would be appreciated! Attach was my first ever cooking spoon (unfinished). It leaves a bit to be desired.
