Can Steroid Injection Help With Nerve Symptoms?
Post Body

I seen a neurologist today… (more on that later)

I’m a 26 year old male, grade 2 anterior spondy at L5-S1. Injured my back working out over a year ago doing leg press. My back muscles were seized up and rock hard for over 8 months after that injury, completely lost my flexibility. Finally got those muscles to calm down with acupuncture treatment with stim. However, shortly after, I started experiencing a constant tingling in my legs all over.. thighs, hamstrings, calves.. you make it. I also get random burning sensations in different locations, it’s hard to identify a pattern. The only area that reoccurs is a very sharp pain just below my left knee. That seems to happen once every couple of days, more often when I’m sitting, but it has happened while laying down on my back before too.

I seen a neurologist today, underwent a nerve conduction study and EMG. He told me everything appeared normal. How can this be possible? Can I still be having neurological symptoms even if my EMG/nerve conduction study found nothing wrong? What else could it possibly be from? Would a steroid injection help this? I am asking all these questions here because I am in Canada and our healthcare system has insane wait times. I’ve been waiting for a consultation for an injection since October 2021.

**More on my leg symptoms. My legs almost feel hyperactive. You know when you feel like you’re getting sick and you start to feel that constant achy feeling and restlessness? That’s what I feel. Does this make sense to anyone?
