27 y/o male, fairly fit individual. Iโ€™ve kept up with core strengthening and I have noticed a considerable improvement in my back pain. However, both of my legs tingle constantly right down to my feet (worse when standing, improves when laying down). I have recently started to experience some erectile dysfunction and lack of interest in sex altogether as well, but I am unsure if it is a direct cause of the nerve compression, or the severe anxiety and depression I have experienced since these symptoms began last year.

I am terrified to have this surgery. I have never had a major procedure before. To have it this young really sucks. I also have a 20 degree scoliosis, and a mild disc bulge at L4-L5, so my surgeon is telling me I have a fairly high risk of developing adjacent segment disease, and my Cobb angle worsening over time. I constantly question myself about whether I am making the right decision or not. My surgeon tells me itโ€™s really up to me and my current pain tolerance, but he has classified me as an excellent candidate due to the symptoms in my legs. Looking for some support or advice from anybody else that has gone through this.

So far I have invested in the following:

-raised toilet seat w/ hand rails -wedge pillow for legs -bedside rail -grabber tool
