Looking to find an afterwork hangout spot. Not much of a bar person, can't stand the bo usually. Wanting to find someplace kinda like the old Calypsos in CDA Idaho (If anyone is familiar with the place before it went out of business) Low light atmosphere, couches and lazy boy type seats. Someplace that's just nice to relax for a bit, draw or read, something to mix up my days.
It seems like every coffee shop nowadays just copy paste the really sterile corporate Starbucks feel with uncomfortable seats, bright lights and atmosphere, etc. wanting to find something more on the moody lazy side of things if that makes sense. All these modern coffee shops are just not built with hanging out in mind, with overly bright atmospheres and setups that feel like "you got your coffee/drink, leave!"
Any suggestions for a good hangout spot would be appreciated. I need to change up my routine and also meet more folks.
My focus is more on the environment. I want comfy couches or chairs you just sink into and get cozy. Lights that are not so blindingly bright that you can actually just relax and take it easy.
I've looked through so many posts here and they all list the same places and then I look them up on Google and it's all the same. Metal bar stools, stiff back chairs, bright bright sterile atmosphere.
It makes me wonder if moody, chill, longe like coffee shops have just gone extinct.
