Solar install metal roof

Post Body

A little background: Just moved here from out of state, so excuse me if I’m unrealistic in my thoughts here!

So we have a 20 - 500W solar panels that we’d like to put on our shop roof. It’s got a metal roof with studs at 24”.

We will be running these to 2 - 6KW inverter/controllers, feeding 6 - 48V 100AH LiFePo batteries.

We already own all this, and the cabling/breaker boxes/isolators, so my question pertains to installation costs.

Will solar installation companies just install portions, as in just our panels, or do they require doing it all?

Can we install it ourselves, provided the electric company inspects it?

Any issues with installing panels on the above mentioned roof?

We live out in the mountains on 20 acres, no zoning or HOA. We are connected to the grid, however we can mechanically isolate the shop, lock out/tag out, and treat the shop as off grid.
