So apparently I just found out that my landlord raised all of our rents in January to offset some move out credits.

Apparently if they raise rents and somebody can't pay the landlord as to pay you your security deposit and $2,000 to move out? I've never heard of this before what is it?

Is this even legal? The whole point of that was to help people in case they raise rents if they build that into the prices and that just making it worse for everybody?
