I don’t think Spiro is for me. My resting heart rate is soaring and my anxiety is through the roof. I had a panic attack on my way to work today. I struggle with OCD so I need to be very careful about my mental health. I’m breaking out worse than ever, which I hear is normal, and could look past if I didn’t feel so terrible.
I took Spiro for 4 years in the past with the BCP and I do remember my anxiety being a real struggle during that time period as well. No acne though!
I am waiting for a response from my dermatologist but in the meantime, do you think stopping cold turkey is an option after less than 2 weeks?
Has anyone tried something different that has worked besides Spironolactone? I struggle mostly with whiteheads and inflamed pustules on my chin only.
EDIT: I’m on 100mg daily and take it at night.
i've cold turkey quit like 10 times lol.
never had any side effects (headaches, whatever..)
I also just don't take it if I'm doing something really physical that day/already dehydrated... it's too much of a battle.

what side effects?
if you're on the incorrect dosage it can cause acne flares... I was on 100mgs and had a ton. told my Derm, she said that's common so we upped the dose. at 150 and it's peachy keen.
outside of it just dehydrating me it's fine.. I also take a BC that's rated to treat acne (there's only a handful - you can google it). but that is divine. has def worked for me.
I also love my topical tarazotene .1% (prescribed by my Derm, it is the strongest topical you can get... but i have cystic acne and HS.. any retinoid product could help you with whiteheads methinks)
