The sound of cars upon the roadway.
The pimple on your chin.
The warm sun on your face.
The thoughts drifting through your mind.
The ache of grieving.
The joy of accomplishment.
The reflection in the mirror.
The rumble of thunder.
The fullness of a good meal.
The sting of betrayal.
The laugh of a stranger.
The rushing of water.
The cold of winter.
The smoothness of silk.
The longing for love.
Everything we experience in life is important. It feeds the soul. But if you hold onto them. They begin to crowd your life. They become jumbled and overlap. We think it is important to hold onto things so that we don't forget. So we can reflect and relive these things both the good and the bad. But the more we hold onto, the more they become noise. And everything else we experience in life has to be filtered through it all. It becomes diminished before reaching the soul. Some may never even make it. The noise becomes a dam in the river.
We must learn to let go of things. They are all a part of us whether we reflect on them or not. Undam the river and allow the flow of life to nourish your soul. Calm the noise in your life so that you may be free.
It is only then that you will remember who you truly are.
