PS4 Gamepad problems

I’m halfway through the game and now all of a sudden my gamepad doesn’t work in game. Very upsetting, I’m really into the game. Anyone know how to fix it without just buying it on another platform?
UPDATE:
Figured it out if anyone else is having this problem. Go to controls and switch the Requests button with another one not being used (I picked R2). Now I can see them again
