My store manager informed us that apparently corporate said we have to work for 5 hours on the 10th (which is the day we load the walls into the truck) to receive the extra $3 for working the 29th, 30th, and 31st. He told us this on the 2nd of November.
Everyone is incredibly mad about this, since we werenāt even told this until after we worked the hours. Some people are also mad bc they have disabilities that make them unable to help with heavy work, like moving walls into a truck, not to mention the fact that not everyone can even work on the 10th due to their availability.
I feel like this has to be a lie, and that itās incredibly unfair to change the policy like that. I went to Spencerās today and spoke to some of the employees that came to work at Spirit for the season. They were not told they had to work the 10th, and when their store manager heard this she was pissed and asked their DSM and they said they heard nothing about that.
Has anyone else heard of anything like this? What is the probability of ācorporateā actually changing the policy? I feel like this is a total lie just to get people to help with loading the truck since not many people want to do that. Iāve also seen no real documentation of corporate saying this.
