Okay, so first nitpick: Miles fucking sucks at keeping his secret identity.
To me, part of what makes Spider-Man interesting is that struggle to balance "normal" life with a superhero life you can't tell anyone about without serious risk... and it's kind of hard to have that element when the majority of named characters people in your life know your secret identity. Now, don't get me wrong, identity reveals are fun and Pete's got a decent list of people who know who he is too... but often Pete's list is accrued over several years.
Miles has been Spider-Man for little over a year, if that, and already Ganke knows then, over the course of a few days His uncle, Phin, and his mom ALL find out. Just makes it feel like they might be blowing their load too early to me.
The second nitpick: Does anyone else think it's weird that every just accepts that Miles is "Spider-Man"?
So, I'm not against Miles using the title of Spider-man... but my understanding, as someone who's not overly familiar with the comics, is that in most canons Miles' version of Peter is already dead. It's like a carrying-on the legacy type of thing...
But here. The original Spider-Man is still alive and well... so why use the same exact name? Wouldn't that cause confusion? More importantly, everyone just accepts it without question?
I'm not even against them both using the same name, it just feels super weird to me that basically nobody addresses it. It'd be slightly more believable if Peter's Spider-Man is the only superhero in Insomniac's world, but he's not. Different heroes having different names is an established thing.
Again. These are nitpicks, something that doesn't really hamper the experience... but still, things that keep popping into my head when I replay or watch someone else play Miles Morales. I'm just curious how other people feel about these.
