Can y’all explain to me bout Jessica Drew as Spider-Woman?

I read some Spider-Man comments, saying “she has no connection to Spider-Man”
But what confuse me is if she doesn’t then why is she in spider verse?
I just assumed that she’s part of the Spider-Man group
Is this one of those things that in the movies she’s a part of the Spider-Man society and has Spider-Man connections?
I hope someone explains it to me very well. I thought she was connections to Spider-Man, but I guess I was wrong.
