Honestly, the prom scene in Homecoming was a way better implication of the Uncle Ben moment than NWH could ever dream of.
Not only did it imply it nicely without going over it again, but it also gives Peter the dilemma of basically making Liz go through losing her father figure much like he did. (in my opinion, that was the real meaning behind him saying "you don't deserve this" rather than him just dumping her at the dance)
