I do not currently have a landline service in my home because we use cell phones. I do have a modem from Spectrum for my internet and I recently added the phone/fax because I needed the fax line for work. Plugged a cordless phone into the back of the modem and I now have a "house phone".
My problem is I need to connect an old style landline, one that when it rings all you do is pick up the receiver and say hello and to hang up all you do is put the receiver back in place on the base part of the phone. No buttons to push or nothing...easy as possible. Now the issue is my modem is in the master bedroom and I need this old style landline phone in the other part of the home in the family room/kitchen area.
I found a couple posts on here stating I could plug a phone line into the back of the modem and plug the other end into the phone wall jack in my bedroom and it would allow tge rest of the phone Jack's throughout the house to work, then all I'd have to do is plug in the old style phone.
Does anyone know if this would work or do you know if a wifi receiver that's a phone jack I could set up in the family room and plug the phone into that?
