Typical catch 22 customer service scenario.
Originally I subscribed to Paramount . Then I saw that Spectrum was offering free Paramount if you have a Showtime subscription, which we've had for years.
I did some magic through the Paramount and Spectrum sites and "ta da" I had free Paramount . I don't recall it being for a limited time, it was just a feature through Showtime.
Suddenly P asks me to subscribe. I've read a bunch about the merger (or absorption) of Showtime / Paramount and it seems like the Showtime streaming app is going away soon.
At any rate, I called Paramount to ask about why I have to log in now, considering the promo I had. They have no idea about it and claim to have no record of it either, which is silly. They tell me to call Spectrum.
Of course, I call Spectrum and they have no idea about it either somehow and tell me to call Paramount . I wound up hanging up on both clueless reps.
What is the deal exactly? Am I supposed to pay for Paramount for like a month or two before the merger is complete? Why does no one know about the promotion? So frustrating.
