So most of the player base has probably realized this but there is one glaring problem in the way the game works that is causing the majority of all other complaints in the game.
It’s the Skill Count Gauge.
Right now the game rewards players for being bad at the game when they pick certain characters. And it’s mainly due to how the Skill Counter works.
The more damage you receive the faster your skill counter gauge fills up. So you can quite literally let yourself be beat up in the first of half of match to fill your skill gauge and then start spamming broken abilities like Afterimage Strike, Instant Spark, etc etc. And the reverse isn’t true. If you’re dominating your opponent your skill counter is going to fill up at a far slower rate than your opponent. To be clear I don’t have a problem with instant sparking or afterimage or how they work I just have a problem with how the ability to use the skills is acquired.
They just need to change how the skill gauge fills up. Either give the same benefits for dealing damage that people get for receiving damage or remove them all together for all parties and let tit fill at the same pace the entire match on both sides. Without this benefit most players who play cheese characters would end up dying before they could actually use these features in battle. Because all they know is how to spam these skills.
And it’s because this mechanic works the way it does that cheese players are thriving rn. Every cheesy character basically works off of being able to abuse their skill count gauge. And the reason they have so many skill counters to use if cause they are bad at the game. It’s especially bad with characters like Gogeta, Broly, Recoome, Vegito and etc. because they have extra health.
And there is no real counter for this either. The only thing you can really do is apply pressure but that just ends up helping them fill their gauge faster. All they need is on opening. One super counter, one vanish, one knock back and then they start spamming and cheesing.
The game should not be rewarding players for playing badly. You shouldn’t be allowed to suddenly start spamming these skills if you’ve been on the losing side of a match up until that point
