? rear Brakes - Damper cover ?
Post Body

Still a novice at doing brakes - replacing pads.

Rear brakes have a damper .

Has a plastic cover . Seems pressure fit. Tried to pry off with a tiny screwdriver.

Looked like it will break to proceed further and I don't have a #30 torx anyway.

( from youtube videos this seems to be the common size .... True ? )

So the damper has to come off to pull out that slider pin.

I lubed the normal slider pin and put back in place.

On the driver side rear brake , I left the OEM stainless steel guides in place , cleaned and applied lithium grease.

Difficult time gettingthe brake pad guides in place on the passenger side.

I'll have another go at silicon lubing the pins under the dampers in a few weeks when snow tires go on Sparky.

Suggestions ?

TIA
