Still a novice at doing brakes - replacing pads.
Rear brakes have a damper .
Has a plastic cover . Seems pressure fit. Tried to pry off with a tiny screwdriver.
Looked like it will break to proceed further and I don't have a #30 torx anyway.
( from youtube videos this seems to be the common size .... True ? )
So the damper has to come off to pull out that slider pin.
I lubed the normal slider pin and put back in place.
On the driver side rear brake , I left the OEM stainless steel guides in place , cleaned and applied lithium grease.
Difficult time gettingthe brake pad guides in place on the passenger side.
I'll have another go at silicon lubing the pins under the dampers in a few weeks when snow tires go on Sparky.
Suggestions ?
