People need to stop crying about how difficult it is and take a step back. Think about it. Just be pragmatic about it.
Everyone complained how difficult ops is in the beginning and the dev brought about changes that made it too easy. The completion rate on ruthless difficulty was too high in the eyes of devs, which is perfectly understandable when a sniper and bulwark below lvl 10 can get through ruthless with a bot. And also extract the gene seed.
The Lethal difficulty along with changes such as the requirement of being close to your brothers for armor regen is a welcome change. I enjoy the struggle and the challenge of coping with new mechanism. Also what’s with the complains about ammo refills? They are sufficient, what are you shooting at? Edit: to those who are deeply role playing thinking you are some super hero space marine. You are a squad of three, trying to get through tough missions. You really think you can go off on your own, hook jetpack jump to wherever you want to and not watch each other’s backs? The squad proximity has meaning to how a squad works. For those deep into the roleplay, this is how a squad works. Sorry to ruin your super hero roleplay
Ruthless had become too easy and it was getting boring. Lethal isn’t meant to be for everyone, it’s made for those who communicate, actually think things through and have the skills to get through it. It’s not for some player (which I see very often) that likes to go off on his own, do his own thing, separated from the rest of the squad. It’s not for the casual player, they can still enjoy the easy to ruthless mode if you cant complete lethal. If you can’t get through Lethal, it’s not the devs fault, it’s you. There are plenty of posts of people making it. You need to think about why you’re getting it wrong, don’t just blatantly blame and whine devs made it too difficult for you. You expect them to just serve everything on a plate for you? It’s made to separate the good and the less good. I sort of see it as a rank.
The reward for completing all ops on lethal is not for everyone. It’s for those who are qualified, it’s those who are good enough and dedicated enough to earn it.
People complain too much about everything that doesn’t work the way it want them to. People want it too easy. It’s ridiculous. If you’re really comparing this to Helldivers and want to leave the game, go ahead, that’s on you. Leaving a game just because you find it difficult just seems absurd to me. Why won’t you enjoy the challenge it brings? Sure some things don’t make sense, and is not coeherent, like keeping the bolt weapons as they are. So what? Just adapt and play! The new generation of gamers need to just accept, stop crying, adapt and play.
But I will agree on one point I saw in one of the posts. Why the XP if it doesn’t contribute to anything? It should at least count towards something with the new difficulty like weapon upgrades, more perks? This seems like a no brainer to me.
