I just got inti the game after a friend of mine asked me to get into it with him. I bought space wolves, specifically the grey hunters wolf pack. I originally wanted a successor chapter but decided against it after i fell in love with all the space wolf characters. After i got into the lore a lot i decided i wanted a real space wolf army done up in iron wolf colors. I bought the pieces to make the egil ironwolf kitbash (with the exception of giving him a jump pack) and i adapted my chapter story over to more of a explanation for why hes back. I plan to post more about all that once im done building and painting everything. Im building a 1000 point list to compeate with mainly my buddies plague marines, and another friend with khorne. But im also trying to make sure they are fun and look awesome since they'll mostly be looked at because i can only play when im off.. So far ive decided for sure on

HQ:

Wolf lord (with jump pack) -duel lightning claws -jump pack

Wolf chaplain (with jump pack) -For the most part I ha no clue how to set him up as im still learning the game

-iron priest( weird i know, but its for the fun factor and i already have an old school one, its what inspired this army lol) -servo arm -hellfrost pistol and tempest hammer

Troops:

I started building before i quite understood points so i already built:

1 pack leader -power axe -boltgun ( these guys are pretty heavily kitbashed so im sure i could make this a storm bolter with some effort)

1 marine -plasma pistol -astartes chain sword

1 marine -plasma gun -astartes chain sword

I figure these guys are most likely gonna be blood claws or grey hunters. I thought they were gonna be grey hunters ar first but have seen nothing but negativity about them. Same with blood claws though. I have 10 bodies altogether. 7 left. 1 of those can be a second pack leader. My plan was to make two packs of 5 though for sure for the next items on my list:

Rhino -double storm bolter

I plan on using this to move the firstborn infantry to prevent death a long with heavy support because im a broke college student and this shit is gonna add up quick. I also dont see the iron wolves using anything less even if it isn't meta. So i dont plan on using thunder wolves anytime soon, im keeping things as mechanical as possible.

The last thing i could think to add was something like:

2 primaris --- ( maybe intercessors?) I planned on using the rhino for cover to walk my guys where they need to go to an extent.

Primaris outsiders maybe? I could be happy with a unit of those instead of the thunderwolves maybe.
