So I have some materials to build a hydroponic system and I thought it would be fun to put together a space bucket build. I understand the difficulties you can face with such a small water reservoir, but for me that is half the fun.

But something I have not clearly seen in builds is an in depth explanation on two things. Is there a standard method in these designs to determine water levels quickly as well as how more nutrients are added. I can definitely design something to do these things but I would rather not reinvent the wheel of people have a good system to not splash nutrients on leaves and an easy way to see the water level.

Has any one built one and have a clever way to do these things?
