Since the advent of humanity, man has been reaching for the stars. Attempting to escape the stagnant, steady monotony of life on the ground and desiring the vast freedom the skies represent, man erects humongous monuments, scales vertiginous heights, just to gain the slightest fraction of the understanding needed to comprehend the liberty only the skies themselves offer.
To those that dare to seek them out, that is.
Bored to death by the humdrum of the ground, thinking himself isolated and misunderstood by others, surrounded by morons, a Lone Builder sets out and devotes himself to life among the clouds. Having been ostracized and brushed aside, he embarks on the endeavour of constructing monuments that rival the mountains themselves and blot out the sun. Almost blinded by megalomania, he never stops building, always chasing the alluring solitude of the skies, always escaping the gruesome battle for survival and the cruelty of man. Soaring towers, floating houses, tremendous arcologies will stand upright as far as the eye can see. Everyone shall regret the ways of their past, and suffer a life in the shadows of superbness.
The higher the Lone Builder builds, the deeper he falls into the abyss of lunacy.
