Hey all. I am a Korean guy who lives in the United States. But, I got some tattoos on my arms. I am worried if I will be discriminated or blamed by old people in South Korea just because I have tattoos on my arms. I am not worried in front of young adults like ages 20s and 30s but if it’s people around 50s and 60s or 70s, I definitely don’t feel comfortable because of tattoos. I know tattoos are trendy these days in Korea but still I am concerned when I visit Korea in the future. I am in the late 20s now but even I am scared of seeing my parents in Korea just because of tattoos. I understand most Korean adults in 50s and 60s dislike people with tattoos but I definitely don’t deserve to be blamed by other Koreans just because of tattoos. I mean it’s not like I have tattoos on face, head or necks. U know?
So my question is should I even be worried or concerned about it just because I have tattoos on my arms when I visit South Korea?
Do most Koreans in Korea really hate tattoo people? I don’t wanna deal with 꼰대 just because of tattoos.
Please let me know!
