LG soundbar audio issue bad cable?

So i have have an LG soundbar with wireless sub. Idk part or model number. So its connected to my tv with an optical cable and every once in a while and increasingly more. The audio will only have bass from the sub and cant hear voices and such. Im able to fix it rarely by powering off the bar and back on but usually i need to unplug the opt cabe and replug it, either at bar or tv. So is that just replace opt cable or start looking for a new bar?
