I'm in the US and am waiting on my preorder of the 1 IV to arrive in fourish weeks.
I'm not a content creator. I have an appreciation for photography but am a terrible photographer.
I don't play a lot of video games.
I don't watch a lot of shows or movies on my phone. Practical use of YouTube while doing some project is the extent.
But I bought one of the most expensive phones on the market today.
Here's why:
I HATE Apple products. I've been a Samsung fan for over a decade. But Samsung wants to emulate Apple. I don't want an Apple or Apple like product.
I wanted: 3.5mm jack - wired headset for use while driving. I drive older vehicles that often don't have Bluetooth and wired is more reliable.
SD card support - when I do use cameras for serious recording I like the extra storage.
Pure-ish android - awhile back Sammy started filling their devices with bloatware you can't remove or disable. Pushing their assistant heavily (which I don't use). Dozens of trash apps I don't use and can't remove, eating system resources.
Capable of multitasking without lag or lockup - think work applications via InTune, plus personal applications , real time updates. I've locked up an S21 Ultra, if that gives you an idea.
I was willing to pay the premium to get away from Apple like philosophy. The mark IV comes with features i may or may not use, but represents a phone I've dreamt about for years. Am I the only one that feels this way?
