Right on 3rd year usage, my 1II stopped charging. I tried replacing battery and flex cables, still doesn't charge. The notification light doesn't turn on and battery always shows 20%. To use it for now, I have to always have it connected to charger - it may or may not turn on sometimes. I resetted using Xperia companion software, still doesn't work.
I called support for repair and since my model is an international model XQ-AT52, they are saying that they won't offer repair - this sounds silly, what are people with non-US model supposed to do? I have asked them to escalate and see if they can still support repair since the hardware is literally the same with US model XQ-AT51.
In addition, I asked if they agree to repair what might be the cause. They mentioned it might be main board. Replacing main board would cost $250 and repair cost would be $150. I'm not willing to spend $400.
Please help me with my options and in future to avoid such things, are there any insurance which will protect me from such repair cost.
