Help with WH-1000XM3 assistant

I just bought the WH-1000XM3 and when I activated the Google assistant it is linked to the NC/AMBIENT buttons so when I press the button to change modes it just triggers the assistant so i just turned it off so I'm wondering if there is a work around?
