Hello! I'm excited to be part of this community, as I was just given an a5000 by someone who moved onto the a7. I've been shooting around on it for a couple days and truth be told, I'm a little disappointed. I was always a 35mm film or dslr photographer, so I'm new to mirrorless. I know that the fault lies 99% with the photographer, but I've been taking photos with my google pixel for the last year, and my phone jpeg engine blows the a5000 out of the water every single time. I've taken lots of side by side photos, and the pixel wins again and again. I'm not a great photographer by any means, but the pixel makes photos I take of basic things like animals or food or buildings look really really impressive to most people. The a5000 does not do that. Something looks off about these photos—they lack a crispness or definition that the out of camera processing on my phone manages to nail every single time. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to set up the jpeg processing in the a5000 so that photos come out with as little need for editing as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
