Travel Lens for Sony A6000

I've got a trip to NYC planned in late March, so I'm looking for some advice on lens to travel with. For the past six months that i've had the camera, I've been shooting on the kit lens and some Canon FD lenses:

Canon FD 70-200mm f4

Canon FD 28mm f2.8

I know that for street photography, it'd be ideal to take the 28mm lens. But, for other scenarios I'm not sure the 28mm would be ideal. Should I get a zoom lens (say a 35-70mm?) or a 50mm paired with the 28mm? I'm looking at a canon fd 50mm f1.4 right now, but I'm wondering if i should stick to a more modern lens?
