I’m a military photographer who has used issued camera gear for work and personal practice. I’ve never had my own camera, I’m self taught and only been shooting for a couple years now. I want to get into portraits and events as a side hustle, but need to find a good and affordable entry point for my level. For the last few months I’ve been using the original A9 and, now, the A1 with different G master lens as issued gear so I’m used to what those cameras have to offer and love the ergonomics of the A1. However those cameras are way out of my price range and probably way more than I need, so I’ve been eyeballing the A64-700 or the A7III with kit lens to start. I’ve heard Tamron and Sigma lenses are good, so maybe those for lens to start with
In y’all’s professional opinions, is that a good place to start or are there other Sony cameras (like A7C line or even older camera bodies) that could be a good entry point? EDIT: I’m balling on a budget lol, so I’m leaning towards cheaper cameras.
