Hi all,
Please excuse this perhaps slightly silly post, but I've been reading up all about both of these cameras and I can't really wrap my head around them. From all sorts of different posts comparing the two I can't seem to find a succinct answer as to what each camera is better suited for. The A7iv is newer but seems to do less than the A7Riv for example. The A7iv seems to be made for video, yet doesn't seem to be compatible with the DJI RS 3 Pro (only the A7Riv seems to be). The A7iv seems to have better autofocus capability, but the A7Riv is the one with the better sensor.
I'm asking this as I picked up an A7iv at a pretty good price and bought a 24-70 sigma art for it to boot, But I just want to be sure I really understand what this camera is all about. It'll be joining my Nikon d7500 as a work camera (with the goal to transition to the A7iv if it's the right thing). But I bought it mainly to do video work, but if it's not really built for that, then I'll look at reselling and moving to something else.
I really could do with a bit of an ELI5 for both of these cameras. I'm sure they're both amazing, just want to be sure I've got the right one as I don't want to find out too late that I can't do certain things with it (such as attach to a DJI gimbal.
Thank you
