So I read the Sonic archie comics back when they were still coming out, but after playing frontiers, I learned about the new IDW comic series. I decided to buy them on Google play and just finished volume 6. I wanted to give yall my thoughts and holy damn. This is some of the best sonic content we've gotten ever. The art styles, the story, the emotion, it's all pretty much perfect. It is creating its own canon continuity, taking place after forces with mentions of unleashed, secret rings, etc. And after hearing that sega is hiring a lore master for sonic to connect all the stories, it's got me hopeful that this series will be canon to the games universe, especially with mentions of tangle in frontiers. Speaking of tangle, the last part of volume 6 with her buying time for sonic and the others to escape the city got me pretty emotional. Seeing whisper so upset got to me, even tho I haven't read the tangle and whisper comics yet. But I love the comics. If yall are looking for good sonic content after over a decade of pretty underwhelming stuff, go ahead and read this new series👍
