I just found a US website (Entertainment Earth) that has a heap of 4-inch Sonic action figures. They've got Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Eggman, Rouge, Omega, Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic, Espio, and Mighty. I put all of them into my cart and went to check out. Now all up, the figures themselves are going to cost $462, which is a lot already, but that's alright. Then I go to the checkout and the shipping and processing gets added, taking it over $500 which, again, it's a lot, but that's fine. Then I get to the shipping and processing section of the checkout and it offers me two different options, one which will cost me an extra $395 and another which will cost me an extra $593. It was on the $395 one by default, so I look over at the total price and now it's up to $1,187 ($791.88 for the items and $395 for the shipping and processing). I mean, I really want these action figures, and I was willing to pay $500 for them, but over $1,100 is just too much. I'm also assuming it's $1,187 in US dollars, which means in Australian dollars I'd be paying $1,662.
We are so starved for Sonic merchandise out here in Australia. No toy stores ever carry any action figures or plushies, nor do any specialty stores. It's a real shame.
