If so, what was your first impression of them?

Many peoples' impressions of the Deadly Six were tainted by their rather shallow characterization in Sonic Lost World and the equally shallow incorporation of Zavok in subsequent games. And while the IDW comics are generally agreed to portray them in a more interesting way, there are still many who dismiss these characters entirely because of their oversaturation in the games, whether they're written well or not.

For comic readers who haven't experienced that oversaturation and have first seen these characters at their most polished... what did you think of them? Did they seem interesting? Do people like you even exist? There must be a couple, right?
