Seeing how Sonic Boom on Wii U and 3DS are tie-ins for an upcoming Sonic cartoon, I plan to play Sonic Spinball in anticipation seeing how that was one of the two games to have elements from the Sonic cartoons of the 90's.

It has me thinking and wondering, what are some moments in Sonic history where the cartoons or even comics, mention anything from a game.

It got me thinking of some moments I remember...

• In an episode of Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog, if I remember the episode of the big race, Sonic and Tails entered a special stage where Sonic emphasized "collect enough rings".
• Sonic X had a set of episodes that followed the Sonic Adventure 2 story-line (Don't know about Sonic Adventure, I rented the Project Shadow DVD in late 2006/early 2007)
• Casino Night Zone made an appearance in The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.
• I use to have a comic issue of Sonic called Sonic Blast, where Sonic was surrounded by a group of flickies reaching for the big ring like in Sonic 3D Blast (obviously a game tie-in comic, but I can't remember much of it aside from the cover).

That's all I could remember at the moment. I wonder if there were other references to the games in the cartoons and comics anyone else would know.
