Does anyone think the meta era made Amy seem more important than she actually is?

Like don’t get me wrong she’s my second favourite character but before 2010 was she really one of the core characters of the cast?

She appeared in 1 classic Sonic game before 2021, she was extremely insignificant in Sonic Adventure, Sonic Heroes, Sonic 06 and Sonic Unleashed and nobody really considered her as part of the genesis OGs until Sonic Boom.

If we’re being honest in terms of importance to the plot you could argue that Rouge was more important in the early years of 3D Sonic than her.

It’s undisputed now that she’s a main character but pre Sonic Boom nobody considered her as part of a quartet it was always just Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.
