Playing your melody sounds heart wrenching if you add the same melody a major sixth above

Edit: Realized I viewed what I was doing a bit wrong, I was playing the white keys with 4 in between. Which is a major sixth at first on C, but when you keep the shape it changes since the fingers aren't always moving the same amount of half steps.

Just something I discovered messing around, maybe this is common knowledge, but I like to play melodies with an octave spacing sometimes to add more power, and just stumbled upon the fact that if you do a minor sixth, it's got a really sad sound that works incredibly well. Figured worth a share.
