How do you check for melodic plagiarism in your songs?

Post Body

I've been writing songs a lot seriously lately with intentions of releasing it. But I have found myself to be extremely paranoid about unintentional plagiarism. I know that court cases about songs sounding the same happen to more established and big artists but I just don't want my own songs to be an unintentional ripoff even if I won't be some massive, global act. I want to at least avoid a social media comment saying that my melody sounds exact like so and so. I guess I just want to cover my bases. I've been using Google's song search tool to check for plagiarism and keep wanting to scrap my ideas when the songs that come up say its 7-10% the same of my melodic idea. But when I listen to the results, its same-ish but not EXACTLY the same. Am I being too paranoid? Honestly this is really paralyzing me as someone who is trying to create. I feel like I do not have any original thoughts at all unless I do an atonal pop song lol (I wont). Some assurance and insight from this wonderful songwriting community would be awesome!
