Replacing poly panels with mono panels - one at a time
Post Body

I am wondering if I can pull this off, or if this is a completely stupid idea. I have 27 poly panels on my roof, installed 17 years ago. The system is rated at 4.59KW (170 watt each panel). Also I have a Fronius IG 4000 inverter which recommends to be used with 3000-5400 Watt PV power.

Now, my power needs have grown, so I want to replace a few panels with new mono panels of higher wattage. I can try to match other specs as much as I can.

This would give me additional power I need. The main objective is to save on electric bill.

Has anyone tried this before? Would it work?
