Understanding the levels/roles of social workers in the UK
Post Body

Hello all, I am a current Masters of Social Work student in the US. I am interested in moving to the UK a year or so after I finish my program this May, and in my research I have been struggling to grasp the ranks or levels of social workers within the UK. In the states, it varies by state, but typically it is just bachelors level (BSW or LBSW), masters level (MSW or LMSW), and clinical licensing (LCSW). I am curious where these fall within the UK standards (in general). As a masters level social worker, is it possible to work as a counsellor or therapist like it is here in the US? Any clarification on this is appreciated, and any tips or advice on the UK social work system and becoming part of the rank is always welcome!
