With the despicable Russian invasion of Ukraine, we as a mod team felt it necessary to continue to re-iterate the importance of opposing all sides of this capitalist and imperialistic conflict.

NATO, the reactionary Ukrainian government & paramilitaries, the European Union, the United States, Russia, and Lukashenko's Belarus all stand against the people of Ukraine who are now trapped as a result of Russian imperialism. The only correct stance is to stand firm with the Ukrainian people and the international proletariat against imperialist war and capitalist militarism.

We find this statement by Georgian Communists to be most pertinent to the situation.

"War in Ukraine is a conflict between Russian & Western Imperialisms...The main victim of this war [are] the Ukrainian people and the average worker....engulfed in the flames of propaganda, hybrid warfare & cut-throat nationalism."

"Georgians, above everyone else, understand...Russian and Western Imperialisms, to be victims of both under the veil of humanitarianism, assistance and democracy...The only right way is rebuking all imperialist powers and joining with the international working class in opposition to any and all bourgeois attempts, missions and representatives..."

In addition:

• While this is not an American dominated subreddit, given the prevalence of Americans on Reddit, we find it necessary to denounce America-centric views that claim America as the aggressor or claim that "the US will bring back the draft!" This situation has very little to do with the United States, and the need of many Americans to center an imperialist conflict back to the United States is deeply telling.

• We recognize that while Ukraine has neo-Nazis in its military, it does not in any way justify a Russian invasion and that Russia is even more culpable of having fascist scum in their military and in the highest levels of their government.

• We denounce any call for boots on the ground or for economic sanctions, and understand that neither one helps the people who are trapped in the conflict. We recognize that economic sanctions on Russia only further hurt the people living within Russia and not its leadership.

• We recognize the prevalence of Russian false flags and stress the importance of being vigilant about propaganda justifying Russia's clear imperialistic invasion as "denazification" or "liberation."

And to those in Ukraine, please stay safe out there, you have all of our love and solidarity. 💜💜💜💜💜
