I’m sure this has been asked many times but This upcoming fall I’ll be in my MSW internship (not sure where yet) and i’m starting to stress about being able to pay my bills and do this in addition to classes. Does anyone have any advice/anecdotal experience as to how they are juggling everything and balancing life with school?
ETA: I currently work a 9-5 job that’s somewhat aligned with what I want to do post grad. I applied for a different position within the org that more aligns with my BSW. I’m also worried that if i get this job I’ll have to leave.
It’s looking like i shouldn’t even bother with it.
Currently going through this:
- Try to find a paid internship (there’s some out there).
- Check for weekend/evening internships (there’s some out there)
- Take out student loans
- Apply for scholarships
- Ask to see if your program offers a stipend to work with certain populations (if you work with CPS they give you a 20k stipend sometimes)
- Work a night job or weekend job
