Hello, I’m a freshman in college and I have decided to major in social work. I hope to work for the foster system one day and I wanted to ask for some tips and advice any of you guys have to make this journey smooth. I would love to hear more about y’all’s personal experience and the ups and down for majoring in social and if you already have a job in the social work field what are the ups and down. I was also hoping to find a mentor as well as I am a first generation student and don’t really know how to go about it or what im doing really. I hope I can’t find a mentor who can help me navigate through these next four years and help with any questions and concerns.
Get your bsw in sw, get experience in the foster care field, apply for your MSW and finish in 1 year.
