I’m really frustrated because I feel like this situation is out of my hands. I submitted my BSW application the second week of January and emails were supposed to be automatically sent out to my references with links for them to submit their materials. I checked in with them a couple weeks after submitted and both of them confirmed they did NOT receive an email from the school.

I immediately contacted the administrator who told me they would check in with IT. I confirmed the emails for my references were correct. They came back to me a week later and said IT confirmed they were sent successfully but hadn’t been opened. They said it was on me to make sure my references were checking their spam folders and being thorough. But she also said they would send them again. She informed me there was no other way for them to submit a reference for me outside of the link in the email.

So I went back to my references and told them the update. I asked them to double check their spam folder and please let me know if they received the emails. That was on Friday and I haven’t heard back from either of them. One is an old supervisor and the other is a current professor.

Do I just keep bugging my references to check their emails? I really feel like they’re in there. The administrator said they’d had no other issues.

I just feel so discouraged. I spent so much time working on my application and worked hard getting straight A’s and on extracurriculars. I can’t even imagine not getting into the program because my references can’t submit.

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.
