I finally got a response from the MSW program I had applied to. I was so nervous to open the email figuring I'd either been accepted or declined, only to find I've been placed on a wait list. I'm feeling so incredibly down about this.

Is this basically a nice way of saying I haven't been accepted? Has anyone else been placed on a wait list and then later got an offer? I didn't even know this was a possibility. I feel like my chances really aren't so great right now.

I was waitlisted at a school and never heard back. Some people are accepted from waitlist. It’s 50/50
