I'm committed to getting my MSW and then eventually my LCSW. I'm interested in macro social work and working in government positions focusing on advocacy, policy analysis, and creating systemic change.
With these career goals in mind, would it make sense to pursue a dual degree, MSW and MLS? I feel like these two degrees would complement one another, especially in macro social work. I've read online that some people say an MLS is just a cash grab and doesn't help career or salary-wise. Is this true? I haven't seen anyone doing an MSW and MLS, and I'm curious if anyone has. I've seen that there are MSW/JD programs but I'm not interested in becoming a lawyer or taking the LSATs or bar exam. Open to any other suggestions of career paths to macro social work as well!
I am also interested in macro work so I have an MPA and working on MSW

Plenty of government roles. Honestly, every job I apply to I get a response for their exams/interviews. Some positions include policy analyst, budget analyst, city grant writer, homeless initiative manager, etc.
However, my interest has gone from policy driven roles to private therapy. I want a combination of macro and micro level work
